Now out of print. 99 Squadron of the Royal Air Force was a bomber squadron in both first and second world war. At present it operates the Boeing C Globemaster III from RAF Brize Norton, the RAF's air transport hub.
The squadron was the first RAF unit to receive the Avro Aldershot, Handley Page Hyderabad, Handley Page Hinaidi, Vickers Wellington, Bristol Britannia and Boeing Base: RAF Brize Norton. The RCAF really did not know who was in South East Asia Command (SEAC) or what they were doing. Only late in the war was a liaison office opened in Calcutta to try to compensate for previous neglect of Canadians in front line squadrons.
